Dr. Arefeh Rouhi receives BC Cancer Excellence Award for Workplace Inspiration

The BC Cancer Excellence Awards provide an opportunity to shine a light on the inspiring people and teams who help ensure that British Columbians receive world-class, patient-centred cancer screening, treatment and support, and benefit from new discoveries that are helping change the face of cancer.

Dr. Arefeh Rouhi is a doctor and scientist, research at the Terry Fox Laboratories, BC Cancer Research Institute. She is the winner of this year’s BC Cancer Excellence Award in the category of Workplace Inspiration.

BCCF Innovation Support Fund Awardees

The BCCF Innovation Support Fund Awardees are:

  • Ly Vu & Christian Steidl - equipment: Bio-Rad ChemiDoc Imaging System
  • Pamela Hoodless - equipment: Thermo EVOS M5000 Cell Imaging Microscope

The BC Cancer Foundation, in partnership with BC Cancer, established the Innovation Support Fund competition in 2010 to enable the acquisition of equipment essential to conducting research. 

Ly Vu awarded Michael Smith Health Research BC Scholar Award

Ly Vu has been awarded the Michael Smith Health Research BC Scholar Award for the project titled, "Post-transcriptional regulation of hematopoietic stem cell function during normal and malignant hematopoiesis."

The Michael Smith Health Research BC Scholar Program supports early-career health researchers who are building leading-edge health research programs, training the next generation of scientists and expanding their potential to make significant contributions to their field.
