I am a translational oncologist with a focus on breast cancer. My goal is to deliver personalized and effective therapies that improve outcomes and increases the cure rates for breast cancer patients. As such, my research interests center on identifying biomarkers that are predictive of sensitivity to therapy, and uncovering mechanisms of treatment resistance, which together inform the development of the next generation of breast cancer clinical trials.
I am currently an Associate Professor of Medicine at University of British Columbia and a Medical Oncology Faculty at BC Cancer in Vancouver. I previously served as the Program Director for Breast Oncology at the Oregon Health and Science University Knight Cancer Institute. My research efforts are focused on high-risk breast cancer including i) identifying novel biomarkers and therapies in early-stage and metastatic triple negative breast cancer; and ii) advancing our understanding of young women breast cancers to improve outcomes in this population.
