Dr. Christian Kollmannsberger, MD, FRCPC, is a staff medical oncologist at BC Cancer – Vancouver Centre and a Clinical Professor at the University of British Columbia. He earned his medical degree from the Technical University of Munich and completed his clinical training in Internal Medicine, Hematology, and Medical Oncology primarily at the University of Tuebingen, Germany.

Dr. Kollmannsberger’s research focuses on genitourinary malignancies, with a particular emphasis on testicular and renal cell cancers. His work aims to uncover mechanisms of treatment resistance and to develop novel therapeutic strategies and biomarkers. He has a special interest in advancing biomarkers such as miRNA-371/375 for testicular cancer, with the goal of improving diagnosis, treatment selection, and patient outcomes.

Nationally and internationally, Dr. Kollmannsberger has contributed to numerous clinical trials in renal cell carcinoma and testicular cancer. He is an active leader in the oncology community, having served repeatedly as faculty and as a member of the education and scientific committees for major conferences, including the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Annual Meeting, the ASCO Genitourinary Cancers Symposium, and the Annual Meeting of the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO).

Dr. Kollmannsberger currently serves as Chair of the BC Cancer Provincial Genitourinary Tumor Group, Chair of the Genitourinary Systemic Therapy Clinical Trials Unit at BC Cancer Vancouver Centre, Chair of the Canadian Clinical Trials Group Testis Cancer Disease-Oriented Group, and is a member of the Canadian Clinical Trials Group Kidney Cancer Disease-Oriented Group.
