The Nursing and Allied Health Research and Knowledge Translation (NAHRKT) department is dedicated to fostering innovation and excellence in interprofessional research and knowledge mobilization. Its primary mission is to drive evidence-informed advancements in care, ultimately leading to better patient outcomes and enhanced system performance.
Practice-based research is where front-line providers, patient and family partners, and other collaborators engage to tackle complex, real-world challenges that directly affect patient care and experience. To support practice-based research, the BC Cancer Nursing and Allied Health Research and Knowledge Translation (NAHRKT) team is pleased to announce the inaugural BC Cancer Nursing and Allied Health Research Grant Competition.
A cancer diagnosis can cause anxiety and fear for patients and their families. This can be heightened when faced with all of the treatment options, such as Radiation Therapy (RT), and diagnostic tests. Research shows that most patients know very little about RT, so it is important to ensure patients have the information they need prior to treatment.
The BC Cancer Practice-based Research Challenge program offers nursing and allied health clinicians who have little or no research experience the opportunity to learn basic research skills and work with a mentor to develop a small research project that has potential to improve clinical practice and patient outcomes.
The BC Cancer Nursing and Allied Health Research and Knowledge Translation department in partnership with Dr. Annette Browne of the Cancer Health Equity Collaborative and UBC Critical Research in Health and Healthcare Inequities (CRiHHI), is pleased to invite you to the following presentation on February 13th 2023: Applying a Substance Use Health Lens in Health Service Delivery: Innovations and Implications in Support of Health Equity
