Nursing and Allied Health Research and Knowledge Translation

Our Focus

The Nursing and Allied Health Research and Knowledge Translation department supports innovation and cancer care excellence by connecting nursing and allied health professionals with education, mentorship, funding opportunities, and protected research capacity to develop as researchers and knowledge mobilizers.

We are working to improve the quality of care at BC Cancer through research, while supporting the growth and professional development of clinicians interested in research and quality improvement. Clinicians bring knowledge and experience, which can be applied to generate knowledge to solve real-world problems.  This drives the integration of clinical evidence into practice and clinical policy, while also promoting an environment where clinicians feel engaged, have agency, and enjoy working.

Research Projects and Programs

Research initiatives led by the Nursing and Allied Health Research and Knowledge Translation department directly address three priorities for action identified by BC Cancer and the Ministry: (1) improve equitable access to cancer care, (2) integrate cancer research and care, and (3) stabilize and enhance the cancer care workforce through expansion of team-based care.
