Dr. Stuart Peacock was elected as a new Fellow into the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences (CAHS). Fellows have demonstrated, through their careers and lives, that they are committed to their field of expertise in many ways. 

Congratulations to Drs. Maryam Darvishian and Parveen Bhatti of Cancer Control Research for having their paper entitled “Association between markers of immune response at hospital admission and COVID‐19 disease severity and mortality: A meta‐analysis and meta‐regression” accepted by the Journal of Medical Virology.

BC Generations Project, part of the Canadian Partnership for Tomorrow's Health (CanPATH) has been awarded for $1.75 million by the COVID-19 Immunity Task Force.

The BC Generations Project with Dr. Parveen Bhatti through the Canadian Partnership for Tomorrow’s Health with $2.1 million in new funding awarded by CIHR are proud to be part of a new Canadian Population Cohort COVID-19 Initiative, SUrveilling Prospective Population cOhorts for COVID19 pRevalence and ouTcomes in Canada (SUPPORT-Canada).

Laurie Smith, winner of a PHSA+ Award, is the program manager of the Global Control of HPV Related Diseases program at the Women's Health Research Institute, and has worked tirelessly to control and eliminate cervical cancer in B.C.
