The BC Cancer Nursing and Allied Health Research and Knowledge Translation department is pleased to invite you to our next session of the Research & KT Learning Collaborative on November 17. The goal of the Learning Collaborative is to provide a forum for nurses and allied health providers to strengthen their skills and competencies related to research and knowledge translation best practices.

For this session we are pleased to host Dr. Holly Longstaff, director, privacy & access, PHSA Research and New Initiatives, for a presentation on the PHSA Project Sorting Tool.

The PHSA Project Sorting Tool is intended to help differentiate between research and non-research projects and direct them to the relevant review bodies (as applicable) within PHSA. Some of the questions are based on the Alberta Innovates. (2010). ARECCI Ethics Screening Tool. Questions also reference the BC Centre for Disease Control's Panorama Data Governance Framework and the tool authored by Mike Catchpole et al. and included in the Field Epidemiology Manual. Holly will present the tool and explain why it was created and how it should (and should not) be used. We will also have lots of time for questions and discussion on topics related to the Sorting Tool and research privacy at the PHSA.
