Terry Fox Lab is the home of several core facilities providing services to everyone at the BC Cancer Research Centre as well as the general research and clinical community.
The Clinical Cell Therapy laboratory (CCT) is an integral part of the Leukemia / Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) Program of British Columbia.
The Terry Fox Laboratory houses two large biohazard Containment Level II+ (CL2+) Facilities, both of which have been designed and tested to meet the requirements outlined in the Canadian Biosafety Standard.
The Flow Cytometry Core Facility (FCCF), is housed in the Terry Fox Laboratory and provides investigators at the British Columbia Cancer Research Centre access to high quality, cost effective flow cytometry services. By providing these services, as well as the scientific expertise necessary to effectively use this technology, the Facility serves to enhance the scope and quality of scientific research performed at the Research Centre. Equipment include staff-operated Cell Sorters (16-colour BD FACSAria Fusion & FACSAria III); user-operated cell sorter (8-colour BD FACSMelody) and cell analyzers (28-colour BD FACSymphony, 16-colour BD Fortessa, 8-colour BD FACSCalibur, 40-channel Fluidigm CyTOF2 mass cytometer, scilVet ABC animal blood differential analyzer, Beckman vi-CELL cell viability analyzer, and etc).
The BC Cancer Center for Genetic Modeling (CGM) was initiated in 2004 as an expansion of the Terry Fox Laboratory Transgenics Core after a decade of successful operations. It is situated within the BC Cancer Research Center (BCCRC) building, which houses a 1,995 m2 rodent facility (ARC) that provides a barrier environment matching the highest standards of pathogen control for commercial facilities around the world. A biohazard Containment Level III facility, an Embryonic Stem (ES) cell lab, and mouse phenotyping suites also exist as infrastructure support for the CGM.
The Stem Cell Assay Laboratory has as its main focus the processing, cryopreservation and functional assessment of stem and progenitor cells present in samples of living tissue.
BC Cancer Foundation is the fundraising partner of BC Cancer, which includes BC Cancer Research. Together with our donors, we are changing cancer outcomes for British Columbians by funding innovative research and personalized treatment and care.
