Two Postdoctoral Fellows in the Evgin Lab at the BC Cancer Research Institute are the recipients of the 2025 Research Trainee Awards from Michael Smith Health Research BC.
Pauline Loos received this award to support her project titled, “Leveraging the native TCR with mRNA vaccines to enhance CAR T cell therapy in solid tumours.” Her research focuses on enhancing CAR T-cell therapies for solid tumours using mRNA vaccines, with the goal of advancing these approaches toward clinical translation.
Zachary Morse received this award to support his project titled, “Investigating gene-edited CAR T cells as an effective therapy in cancer.” His research focuses on exploring genetic engineering to improve CAR T-cell immunotherapies to treat aggressive lymphomas that resist conventional treatments.
The Research Trainee Program supports health researchers in the training phase of their research career to enable career development and the long-term success of the BC health research landscape. Michael Smith Health Research BC named 35 exceptional BC-based health researchers as this year’s award recipients. Find the full list of award recipients here.
