Ryan Woods is an executive director, Data and Analytics at BC Cancer. Ryan has served as director of Data and Analytics of the BC Cancer Registry since 2019. He also holds a scientist appointment in the department of Population Health Sciences within the BC Cancer Research Institute and is an assistant professor in the Faculty of Health Sciences at Simon Fraser University.
Ryan’s educational background is in mathematics and statistics; he holds an MSc in Statistics from the University of British Columbia, and a PhD in Epidemiology and Biostatistics in the School of Population and Public Health at UBC. He has more than 20 years of experience in analytics roles from academia, the private sector and supporting health care operations. Ryan’s research interests include cancer outcomes research, measuring equity in the cancer system, and cancer surveillance and epidemiology. He is excited to continue to develop BC Cancer’s analytics program as we continue to advance B.C.’s 10-year Cancer Action Plan.
