We previously identified that melatonin suppression in nightshift workers is associated with reduced capacity for repair of oxidative DNA damage, which may contribute to increased risks of cancer in this group. We are now conducting a clinical trial to determine if melatonin supplementation can reverse these effects in nightshift workers.
