Research Interests:
Mouse endogenous retroviral elements
In co-operation with the Dept. of Medical Genetics at UBC,
I am analyzing the expression of mouse endogenous retroviral elements (ETn and MusD elements) in different mouse strains and in different mouse tissues and embryonal stages by real-time PCR. Furthermore, I am developing a PCR-mediated assay to determine the methylation status of these middle repetitive mouse elements. My work is supported by a fellowship of the "Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft", Germany.
