BC Cancer Foundation
The BC Cancer Foundation is an independent charitable organization that raises funds to support research and enhancements care through the BC Cancer Agency. The Foundation funds the research infrastructure (operating costs) at the BC Cancer Agency. This includes funding the BC Cancer Agency's BC Cancer Research Centre, Genome Sciences Centre and Trev & Joyce Deeley Research Centre.
Through the public's generosity, in fiscal 2005 the BC Cancer Foundation provided $10.8 million in funding for BC Cancer Agency research. This funding enabled BC Cancer Agency scientists and clinicians to attract a further $45.5 million through grants. Core funding through generous
donations from the public is critical to the on-going success of BC Cancer Agency research initiatives.
The BC Cancer Foundation recently launched the
BC Cancer Foundation Underwear Affair to raise funds for cancers below the waist. The BC Cancer Foundation hosts
The Weekend to End Breast Cancer, a two day, 60km walk to support breast cancer research and care at the BC Cancer Agency every year. And the Foundation also runs the annual
