Supporting Research
World-class cancer immunology research is taking place at the BC Cancer Agency's Trev & Joyce Deeley Research Centre on Vancouver Island.
A state-of-the-art research centre, made possible by the generosity of BC Cancer Foundation donors, is an integral part of the BC Cancer Agency's Vancouver Island Centre. Researchers at the BC Cancer Agency's Trev & Joyce Deeley Research Centre work closely with clinicians to translate discoveries into new and effective cancer prevention, care and treatment protocols for cancer patients. The focus of the BC Cancer Foundation's efforts on Vancouver Island is to provide critical funding in support of this innovative immune-based research.
Current research initiatives at the Deeley Research Centre which the BC Cancer Foundation Vancouver Island is raising funds for include: High School Internship Program; establishment of the BC Cancer Agency's first Antibody Research Unit and numerous immunotherapy research projects focussed on prostate, lymphoma, renal, breast, ovarian and other cancers.
