Research Interests:

  • Immunological markers and treatments for cancer
  • I am working with Dr. Julian Lum to identify, prepare and test multiple ovarian cancer antigens for possible use in immunotherapy: using cytotoxic T-lymphocytes specific against them for tumor treatment. Looking at common changes in tumor metabolic enzymes and at tumor expression of otherwise germ cell and/or developmental stage restricted genes, prospective antigens will be tested for expression in ovarian cancer patients and cell lines via Western blots, IHC and Histogels. Promising antigens will be identified and inserted into B-cells using the in-vitro translation method, which will in turn be used to generate populations of cytotoxic T-lymphocytes specific against the antigens for use in tumor cytotoxicity assays.
