Xavier Pelletier

The BC Cancer Agency Vancouver Island Centre is home to Canada’s only high school internship program. As a high school student who knew the meaning of giving back, it seemed only fitting for the BC Cancer Foundation to endow this program as The Xavier Pelletier High School Internship Program . The Pelletier family is appreciative to have this program honour Xavier’s memory. Xavier Pelletier

Taking place inside the research laboratories at the BC Cancer Agency in Victoria, the Xavier Pelletier High School Internship Program offers young scientists opportunities to work directly with renowned researchers who are discovering cures and improving the lives of those living with cancer. Now in its tenth year, this program is truly unique and allows high school students to explore cancer research from the front lines and learn the latest investigative techniques. Many graduates of this program go on to promising careers in the field of cancer research.

The Xavier Pelletier High School Internship Program will annually select and train some of Vancouver Island’s most exceptional Grade 11 students for a summer of learning and work experience at the BC Cancer Agency Vancouver Island Centre. The program will continue to serve as a reminder of the difference young people can make in helping create a world free from cancer.
