Research Interests:

  • Quantitative Microscopy with Digital Micromirror Devices
  • Pierre's research involves incorporating digital micromirror devices (DMD's from Texas instruments) into conventional microscope design. The DMD's replace existing apertures and irises in a microscope to gain precise and flexible control over the angles and locations of illumination.

Confocal microscopy has been achieved with a cost-effective system, and optical tomography is also being studied.
