Cancer Endocrinology
Research at the Department of Cancer Endocrinology Our research is mainly focused on the prevention, early diagnosis and treatment of prostate cancer; attention is also given to therapeutics for lymphoblastic leukemias and diagnosis of melanoma. Our main objective is to delineate biochemical, genetic and molecular characteristics underlying the development of prostate cancer, with a view to generating new diagnostic and therapeutic agents. Use is made of proteomics and genomics in collaboration with the BCCA Genome Sequence Centre and BioInformatics Facility. Clinically, we examine novel combination therapies for effectiveness. Our Prostate Cancer Research Program is part of the Vancouver Centre of Excellence for Prostate Cancer Research.
