THE GENOME SCIENCES CENTRE
This world-class research unit within the BC Cancer Agency provides the ability for Advanced Therapeutics drug development programs to link studies of pharmacogenomics and target validation to preclinical and clinical anticancer drug assessment. Although early stage Phase I/II clinical studies are not powered sufficiently to define pharmacogenomic correlates, preliminary information about drug metabolism and activity from these studies can be used to help design larger, population based, studies. Linking the knowledge at the  Genome Sciences Centre with preclinical and clinical investigations being led by Advanced Therapeutics research and clinical scientists will provide information on target activity and intervention approaches.
