ESTABLISHED INVESTIGATIONAL DRUG PROGRAM
The Investigational Drug Program staff and facilities offer unique expertise in three main categories based on the facilities used; the pharmaceutical clean room, the animal facility and analytical services

The Investigational Drug Program has a core competency in the development of cancer related therapeutics, specifically in pre-clinical testing and early stage manufacturing of parenteral products, typically small molecules. Of a total staff of seventeen, there are three Ph.D. cancer research scientists and one medical oncologist. All three of the Ph.D. scientists have focused on the development of anticancer therapeutics, thus lending considerable expertise to be available for guiding small biotechnology or pharmaceutical companies in the development of their compounds. A key strength is the experience of the IDP staff in aseptic fill procedures for small batches of parenteral products. The Clean Room Facility complies with the strict infrastructure requirements for performing cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practices) formulation and production services and is licensed (#100769-A) to fabricate, package and test pharmaceuticals such as cytotoxic drugs and antibiotics in injectable format.
